The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is the largest trade event in China in terms of scale, transaction volume, and international reputation. As “China’s No. 1 Trade Show,” the Canton Fair attracts numerous domestic and international enterprises, along with hundreds of thousands of overseas buyers. On October 15, 2010, the 108th Canton Fair was held as scheduled. As the largest factory of the Tailift Group in mainland China, Tailift Qingdao once again actively participated in this significant event.
The Canton Fair has always been regarded as a "litmus test" for gauging the vitality of foreign markets. This year’s fair was held against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, with many export enterprises facing additional pressures such as rising raw material costs and an appreciating Renminbi, which increased price negotiation challenges. However, crises can sometimes turn into opportunities. Under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Lin Xiwen, Tailift Qingdao remained closely attuned to market trends, maintained precise market positioning, and seized every opportunity, standing out as a leader in the industry.
At this year’s Canton Fair, we showcased a 2.5-ton Hercules series forklift imported from Taiwan and equipped with a Japanese ISUZU engine, a 3-ton Silver Leopard series forklift, a 3-ton Flying Eagle series forklift, a 2.5-ton 7L series dual-fuel LPG/gasoline forklift, a 1.8-ton compact all-AC electric forklift, and two electric pallet trucks developed in collaboration with a well-known European company.
Upholding Tailift’s tradition of precision in technology and production, all of the exhibited products were designed with international customer requirements and aesthetics in mind, showcasing premium quality with unique styles and engineering. The booth drew constant attention from overseas buyers, many of whom expressed their admiration with enthusiastic thumbs-up gestures.
To better serve international buyers, our exhibition team made extensive preparations in advance. They underwent rigorous training in language, cultural awareness, and product knowledge, allowing them to engage with visitors confidently and professionally. This ensured that buyers received detailed product information and felt warmly welcomed and respected.
According to post-event statistics, the team received and interacted with 160 groups of buyers from around the world. In addition to promoting Tailift’s products and brand, the team also gathered a wealth of timely and valuable market insights. After the fair, our representatives remained proactive, maintaining close contact with potential clients via email and phone, striving to build long-term business relationships across global markets.
The Canton Fair brought us more than just orders; it reinforced our understanding of sustainable business development. This year’s fair made it clear that companies with independent intellectual property rights, self-owned brands, and direct marketing capabilities have significantly stronger bargaining power. Branded products outperformed generic ones, and Tailift stands as a prime example. As the old saying goes, “To forge iron, one must be strong.” Riding the momentum of the Canton Fair, we will continue to uphold our business philosophy: “Creating Innovation, Infinite Possibilities, Commitment to Quality, and Sustainable Development,” as we strive to deliver products that meet and exceed customer expectations.
